Course Description & Intended Audience

Mayo Clinic's European Symposium on Practical Neuroradiology: Insight to Impact is designed to provide a highly practical educational experience for neuroradiologists, general radiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the interpretation of neuroimaging studies. This course will combine expert instruction with immersive case-based learning to enhance diagnostic confidence and improve patient care.

The course features didactic lectures from internationally recognized Mayo Clinic faculty and will cover key topics in neuroradiology with a focus on practical insights that participants can immediately apply to their daily practice. Lectures will be followed by 15-minute interactive case-based sessions, designed to reinforce the key points discussed and provide illustrative examples to solidify learning. Audience participation will be encouraged to provide an opportunity for attendees to test their knowledge. 

Topics will include a broad spectrum of neuroradiological disease, including neuro-oncology, spine imaging, vascular imaging, pediatric neuroradiology, and neurodegenerative disorders. Participants will gain valuable insights into imaging techniques, diagnostic pitfalls, and emerging trends in neuroradiology.

Course Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Review the 2021 WHO Brain Tumor Classification with emphasis on imaging features that support the updated diagnostic criteria.
  • Identify the imaging characteristics of normal and abnormal cerebral veins.
  • Evaluate imaging findings in pediatric patients with facial trauma.
  • Recognize the latest advancements for evaluating spinal CSF leaks.
  • Distinguish between autoimmune encephalopathies and other neurological conditions with similar imaging findings.
