Overview

Course Description and Intended Audience

Mayo Clinic Diagnostic Imaging Update and Self-Assessment is a post-graduate course designed to provide practicing radiologists, residents and fellows-in-training with a review of state-of-the-art imaging techniques. "Focused days" (abdominal, breast, chest, MSK, neuro, nuclear medicine, physics, and ultrasound) will be offered in response to prior participants' requests. Self-assessment modules (SAMs), required by the American Board of Radiology for maintenance of board certification, will be available for this activity.

Course Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of the program, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize potential differences between lymphoma and other entities that may allow a more confident diagnosis and narrow the differential
  • Examine MSK interventional procedures performed under ultrasound guidance
  • Review recent advances in nuclear medicine procedures
  • Identify transgender issues and emerging breast imaging guidelines of this patient subset
  • Examine MRI safety considerations when scanning implants

Attendance at this Mayo course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this course.
