Course Description & Intended Audience

Mayo Clinic Radiation Oncology: Current Practice and Future Direction is a comprehensive course designed to explore contemporary cancer treatment through a balanced and multidisciplinary approach. The course format will incorporate didactic lectures, Q&A panel discussions, and poster sessions to provide attendees with an engaging and informative learning experience.

This course covers a broad range of cancer sites, including breast, central nervous system (brain and spine), GI/GU, GYN, lung and head and neck cancers, complemented by key practice updates and more! Faculty will highlight key advancements and emerging topics such as PMRT and RNI techniques, spine SBRT and retreatment, rectal cancer surgery in the era of organ preservation, and management of GI complications from radiation therapy. The program also features dedicated sessions on practice updates across disease sites to keep attendees current with the latest developments in radiation oncology, including a dynamic, interactive, case-based oligometastases panel.

This course is designed for radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, radiation biologists, radiation physicists, dosimetrists, oncologists working in related specialties, radiation oncology nurses, oncologic surgeons, radiation oncology administrators, diagnostic radiologists, and most professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology.
